Kaliser
I dig into the assumptions behind a decision before I trust it, then build the model on what actually holds up. That's the instinct I bring to research: get hands-on with the numbers behind market size, pricing, and forecasts, so the analysis built on top of them is grounded in traceable sources, not just what's assumed.

Zolomon Kaliser is the founder of ZKK Consulting LLC. He holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Texas at Dallas and is completing an M.Eng. in Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M University, with expected graduation in May 2027. He began college at 14 and completed his undergraduate degree on an accelerated timeline.
At ZKK, he leads market and financial research across industries, including competitive landscapes, market sizing, pricing and go-to-market analysis, and multi-year revenue and cost models. He also leads the firm's medical-device and FDA-related research, where his biomedical engineering training helps connect technical context to commercial analysis.
His work on ZKK's internal Vyrex wearable program has also included bill-of-materials cost research, vendor and assembler sourcing, and unit-cost modeling for hardware products.

Undergraduate ProjectPerformed cost engineering and supply-chain research for an internal wearable program. Rebuilt the bill of materials using distributor and assembler sourcing, reducing estimated per-unit component cost from $18.73 to $5.39 at quantity one. Also modeled the impact of a sensor upgrade, maintained the design log, benchmarked enclosure dimensions against existing wrist wearables, and contributed to preliminary prior-art research. The program was internal research and was ultimately not commercialized.

Engineering context for product and market research
Jad Haddad leads ZKK Consulting's technology and product research, including electronics, embedded systems, connected products, component and supply-chain landscapes, and standards and certification research. His work brings technical context to the market, competitive, pricing, and sourcing questions behind a commercial decision.
His perspective comes from hardware development as well as research. Before co-founding ZKK, Jad originated and led technical design and R&D for Vyrex, an internal wrist-worn fall-detection wearable program. The work included a Version 3.0.0 PCB design, a bench prototype, a sourcing migration across two supply chains, and prior-art research. That experience informs ZKK's hardware work, which uses current supplier, vendor-stock, and minimum-order-quantity research rather than relying on list prices alone.

Engineering Projects

Originated the concept for and led the technical design and R&D on an internal wrist-worn fall-detection wearable program. Directed the hardware architecture: a PCB design carried through Version 3.0.0, a bench prototype built on an ESP32 development board with an Adafruit LSM6DSOXTR six-axis IMU breakout, and a complete component specification covering the BLE MCU, inertial sensing, lithium-polymer charge management, USB-C power input, regulation, and MOSFET-driven haptic feedback with flyback protection. Led the IMU migration from the STM LSM6DSOXTR to the LSM6DSV16XTR for lower power draw, stronger on-chip machine-learning inference, and higher onboard storage, which reduced how often the device had to offload data and interrupt the MCU's deep-sleep state. Also led the MCU migration from a prototyping ESP32 devkit to an nRF52805 BLE 5.4 module before ultimately settling on an ESP32-C3 Mini, weighing assembler stock availability, power consumption, and pin compatibility. That final choice also avoided FCC 47 CFR Part 15C intentional-radiator testing, saving thousands of dollars. Also developed a companion app with a custom machine-learning algorithm: the device offloaded stored user gait data to the app, which retrained the model and adjusted the user's fall-detection parameters, then sent the updated parameters back to the device over Bluetooth into a fully custom, power-efficient deep-sleep interrupt system. Researched prior art and competitive patents in the fall-detection wearable space to inform the program's IP strategy. Vyrex was an internal research program and was ultimately not commercialized.

Researched capacitor bank theory and fault-response behavior for high-voltage transmission systems tied to the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant. Covered series vs. parallel bank configurations, tap-sensing & unbalance protection, and relay-based fault response. Built a set of interactive animations from scratch in HTML/SVG to explain the concepts, including a phase-correction fault-response diagram, a sensing-circuit walkthrough, a series/parallel configuration comparison, and a power-triangle explainer using a beer-pour analogy for real vs. reactive power. This later became part of the team's new standard for explaining capacitor-bank behavior, enhancing on prior approaches to onboarding and training on the subject.
Designed and sold an automated height-adjustable desk-control system built around an STM32 microcontroller. Led the hardware lifecycle in KiCad, including modular PCB schematics and layouts, motor-control circuitry, power management, and expansion interfaces. Modeled circuit behavior in Multisim, validated component selections, programmed the firmware, and completed enclosure modeling and integration.
Designed and built an automated irrigation controller around an Arduino Uno R3 with custom C++ firmware. Integrated capacitive soil-moisture monitoring, a passive water-safety shutoff, two-channel MOSFET switching, and ultrasonic sensors to track fluid levels. Added programmable LED alerts for pump activation and dry-run conditions.
Developed a Wi-Fi-connected desktop clock and productivity tool using a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W and Python. Implemented NTP-based time synchronization over Wi-Fi, configurable 12- and 24-hour display modes, dynamic RGB status lighting, and a Pomodoro timer for work and rest intervals.

Supported substation commissioning and configured SEL protective relays for grid reliability.
